During the COVID-19 pandemic, Optimist has pivoted and increased support to those who need it during these challenging times. This includes opening a new Temporary Shelter Care program to provide girls age 12-17 from the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) who are essentially homeless due to placement transition, a nurturing and safe place to stay. Annie Nuttall from Optimist Youth Homes and Family services will talk about this program that has recently opened at the Pacific Lodge campus.
