Ross was an announcer for the LA Dodgers (1977-2004). He writes a weekly column for the LA Times during baseball season, and in 2016 became the announcer for the Cal State Northridge baseball team. Since 2006, Ross hosts a charity golf tournament each November to raise funds for the non-profit organization, Stillpoint Family Resources. Stillpoint was founded when his first grandson was born with Down Syndrome.
