Connie Garvey shared his story ata the January 25 meeting. Connie (Conrad) was born in Victor, New York, as a twin to sister, Caren. He has one brother and three more sisters. He received his BS degree in Marketing in 1971 from the University of Findlay. He and his lovely wife, Judy have two sons and two daughters. His career in sales started with the Monroe Calculator Company when calculators cost $2,000 each!Connie next move was to Chicago where he worked for Ambassador Office Equipment Co. He sold Canon's first "programmable" calculator and became Canon's #1 deal in the USA!!! From there he moved to Hindsdale, IL, with his idea of providing auto insurance quoting using the programmable calculator which took off!!! He controlled the market of Independent Insurance Agencies offering this service! Then the company was sold. Connie had a few sales related moved since Hlndsdale to Cincinnati, to Harland, WI to San Jose, CA. Upon retiremenhe joined the Rotary Club of Carlsbad and luckily for us, he moved to Calabasas! He loves to play golf, travel and his grandkids!
