December is Rotary's Disease Prevention and Treatment Month. Rotary members work to prevent and treat disease in a number of ways: 
  • Polio eradication: Rotary's top priority. 
  • Immunization: Immunize people against infectious diseases. 
  • Health education: Programs that teach how diseases spread and how to reduce the risk of transmission. 
  • Health worker training: Training and education of health workers through scholarships, stipends, and public recognition. 
  • Health care access: Improve access to affordable health care in underserved areas. 
  • Infrastructure: Sets up health camps and training facilities, and designs and builds infrastructure. 
  • Drinking water: Improve safe drinking water. 
  • Sanitation: Improve sanitation infrastructure.
