December is Rotary's Disease Prevention and Treatment Month. Rotary members work to prevent and treat disease in a number of ways: - Polio eradication: Rotary's top priority.
- Immunization: Immunize people against infectious diseases.
- Health education: Programs that teach how diseases spread and how to reduce the risk of transmission.
- Health worker training: Training and education of health workers through scholarships, stipends, and public recognition.
- Health care access: Improve access to affordable health care in underserved areas.
- Infrastructure: Sets up health camps and training facilities, and designs and builds infrastructure.
- Drinking water: Improve safe drinking water.
- Sanitation: Improve sanitation infrastructure.
