Fleet Street Needs Volunteers

Fleet Street has been selected to provide bike valet services (just like auto valet) for the following events:

May 15 (Friday Night) at Union Station by METRO for Bike Week (last year we moved 240 bikes) from 6 to 10 p.m.

May 17  Sunday at the Rose Bowl for the AMGEN Ride of California organized by AEG events (500 to 1,000 bikes expected)(7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

May 31 Cyclavia in Pasadena (200 bikes expected) all day.

These events are three of the highest profile events in Southern California. The May 17 event has international implications with the leading professional bike riders in the world competing and AEG organizes a great many events. Being selected to conduct these events (and get paid for them) raises the profile of Fleet Street, publicizes the Rotary Club of Woodland Hills and provides an experience for the boys at Pacific Lodge which they will remember for years.

We REALLY NEED volunteers….at LEAST a dozen for the May 15 and May 17 events and at LEAST 20 volunteers for the May 17 event (plus about 10 boys from Pacific Lodge for each event).  Transportation will be coordinated and food will be provided.  We gladly accept Rotarians, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren over the age of 12, spouses, lovers, neighbors, associates and almost everyone else.  There are basically two tasks to do (a) get information and (b) move bikes. We will have sign-up sheets at tour Club’s meetings. Those of you with experience are especially needed. For more information contact Dana Sherman.
