As we close out 2025 together, I want to share a few highlights that truly stand out to me. When I accepted the role of President, I expected it to be fun and rewarding but I never imagined the depth of love, friendship, and support I would receive from this wonderful club. I now have friends I can call when I need them and mentors who have guided me with wisdom and kindness. A heartfelt thank-you to Shelley, Diane, Lois, and Sandy for the countless hours of conversation, encouragement, and support.
This year we welcomed our exchange student, Kotoko, whose joy and spirit have added so much to our club family. Our Interact Club is just getting started, and I can’t wait to see the amazing things they’ll accomplish. Becoming an official Peacebuilder Club was another meaningful milestone, and it reflects who we truly are—people committed to service, compassion, and positive change.
We faced challenges, but we faced them together, with creativity and courage. Thank goodness for our DREAMERS—your ideas, enthusiasm, and passion continue to make this club vibrant and exciting.
This holiday season reminded me once again why Rotary matters. We touched the lives of children and families in ways that warmed hearts and lifted spirits—ours as well as theirs. From GiGi’s Playhouse to SFVRM, the Knights Christmas Party, Hope the Mission, and Giving from the Heart, each act of service reflected the very best of who we are. Seeing all those smiling faces, and watching you serve with joy, was truly unforgettable.
As we move into the second half of this Rotary year, my hope is that it will be even more meaningful, impactful, and fulfilling for all of us. Let’s continue to be the very best Rotarians…for the very best Rotary Club!
May you all be blessed by the joy of service, the strength of our fellowship, and the impact we continue to make together.
At the December 10 Lunch Meeting the speaker was Haley Jain Haggerstone, partnership director of Seatrees. The organization’s mission is to regenerate the health of our ocean planet by protecting restorinecosystems that are crucial for fighting climate change, supporting biodiversity, and benefiting communities around the world. Haley is pictured in the third photo on the right with President Christy Pinto.
The club again sponsored the ONEGeneration's Holiday Fun for the seasoned youngsters of the valley. The event featured music, performances, and community celebration for seniors and guests. We also presented a $1,000 check to the organization.
The club had an incredible time at the Knights of Columbus Christmas Party! We were honored to make Christmas stockings, color pictures, and paint rocks for 450 kids. This day truly reminded us of how blessed we are to make a difference.
The club decorated Christmas stockings at The Woodlands, which is a family homeless shelter run by Hope the Mission that offers housing and supportive services. We love seeing all the creative styles come to life! Click on the photos to watch a video.
Motor 4 Toys, a charity car show and toy drive was held on December 7. About 600 bikes were assembled and they along with thousands of toys were distributed to kids by the Boy Scouts, West Valley and Woodland Hills chamber of Commerce, and our club. Click on the photo to watch a video.
